Lecturer introduces the use of web blog in writing course step by step. The creation of all the student web blogs emphasized to accomplish before the second meeting.
First, teacher announce email address (kadirkindman@gmail.com), the address of class web blogs (http://writing2unhalu.blogspot.com) and the web blog of teacher feedback (http://feedbackwriting.blogspot.com) that teacher had created before the first class. The web blog of class web blog has title “Academic Writing Unhalu” and the web blog of teacher feedback is “Teacher Feedback on Writing Unhalu”. Based on the above description it means that teacher creates a separate class web blogs, so information can be efficiently organized. Thus, there are two web blogs for teacher in this study, one class blog can be solely for keeping lecture-based material and students enable to post their assignment, and answers to past assignments. Another web blog can be keep solely for giving feedback to this class. In this way, students can easily find pertinent information.
PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO THESE POINTS :
The specific procedure to create group web blog in this study is such as follows: (It will accomplished by student in outside of the classroom process)
a. Students create an account at www.blogger.com and fill the form until finish.
b. Students send e-mail to the teacher’s e-mail (kadirkindman@gmail.com) as confirmation that they had created a web blog and for grouping to the class web blog.
c. Teacher will invite the students to join in class web blog that teacher had created before with title “Academic Writing Unhalu”.
d. Students reopen their e-mail and accept the invitation from the teacher by click to the link of the web blog class. If the students do not have an existing Blogger account, they will need to do so at this point and create an username and password. After the students accept the invitations to join their web blogs, the initial set up is complete. It means that they can start posting their writing through their web blog and automatically their posting will be displayed in class web blog.
e. You will write your assignment on web blog with a additional page in your blog as the our web blog community entitle : “Academic Writing Unhalu”.
